Psalm 49 | What Money Can Never Do

Why does it rattle our faith to watch people who want nothing to do with God do so well? Psalm 49 calls us to face that question honestly, naming the fear and the envy stirring underneath it, following a grasping life all the way to where it actually ends, and then pointing past everything money can buy to the one thing it never could: a ransom for the soul. This message moves from grasping to giving, and finally to the only One who can pay the price we never could.
