When Fear Overtakes Faith

Genesis 12:10–20 finds Abram afraid, deceptive, and seemingly willing to put God’s promises at risk in order to protect himself. Even more surprisingly, it is Pharaoh, the pagan king of Egypt, who recognizes that something has gone terribly wrong. Yet beneath all the fear, failure, and irony, God remains at work. Join us this Sunday as we are reminded that the story of redemption does not ultimately depend on the faithfulness of God’s people, but on the faithfulness of God himself.
