Mission PARTNERs

Canyon Creek has mission partners both locally and globally that we support financially, through your tithes and offerings, through prayer, and through volunteering at their programs and events. Below is a listing of those mission partners and information about how you can get involved.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations

Matthew 28:19

Arukah House is a Christian men's transitional care home in Livermore for men that have recently been released from prison or who are currently homeless. Arukah House is not a shelter. It is for men who are ready to move forward in life. The home helps men with vocational training, attaining work, saving for future residency, and learning skills to continue being successful in society.

An astounding 1 in 9 residents turn to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano for emergency and supplemental food. Many of our neighbors are unable to make ends meet and the Food Bank helps them cover one of life’s basic needs—nutritious food. We strive to serve all people experiencing hunger or food insecurity in Solano and Contra Costa counties and commit to never turn anyone away.
Through our partnership with Feeding America, a nonprofit network of 200 food banks and the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, we also lend support to hunger-fighting organizations in 18 Northern California counties.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives…one heart at a time. Since 1954, FCA has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful platform of sport to reach every coach and every athlete with the transforming power of Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities around the globe by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to unite, inspire and change the world through the gospel.

Our ministry partner Harbor House - a ministry in Oakland dedicated to the flourishing of children, teens, and families - has asked for our prayers and volunteers. This Summer there are short-term needs for summer field trip drivers. Long-term there are needs for virtual tutoring, food distribution, enrichment club leaders, and facility maintenance and gardening. If you have a heart for educational equity and seeing all children thrive please sign up to be a field trip driver or for other volunteer opportunities.

Next Step started in 1988 as a way to offer a safe and caring place where women facing an unplanned pregnancy could find confidential information about all of her options.
Our passion is the same today as always has been:
  • Empower women in making a confident choice. A choice that reflects her own values and beliefs.
  • Provide pure support. We do not profit in any way from your choice.
  • Honor the woman as an individual.
  • Provide all information and verification needed in one place to find your decision.
With no pressure of time or cost.
Our focus is on the client and the client’s needs.
Next Step is a Christian-based organization. We serve and honor all clients regardless of their race, religion, age, gender, political views or other distinctions. Our agenda is yours–it's as simple as that.

We partner with Reformed University Fellowship which is a college ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). They have been on the UCBerkeley, San Jose State, and Stanford University campuses for the past 15 years reaching out to students for Christ and equipping them to serve in the community and local church. We as a church, thanks to your tithes and offering, donate funds to them and pray for their ministry. We would ask that you pray for their ministry to thrive.

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Each year we pack shoebox gifts to be sent around the world to bless children in need. The boxes are sent to more than 100 countries where they share the message of the Gospel and give the children gifts.

Shepherd's Gate is one of our ministry partners. We financially support and care about many different ministries. We want you to be aware of those partners so we will be featuring them in our newsletter. We are starting with Shepherd's Gate, a shelter for women and children who have experienced homelessness, addiction and abuse.

We have ongoing meals teams that provide a dinner for all of the residents once a month. Each team is assigned one month out of the year. We are always looking for more people to join these teams. The team coordinates who provides what and who will deliver the meal. Will you consider making this once a year commitment which brings so much joy to the residents.

The Tri-Valley Seek & Save mission demonstrates Christian kindness through tangible acts of love in an authentic relationship.
We serve the community by providing emergency assistance, housing support, crisis intervention, and a fellowship family connection. Through the love and grace of Jesus Christ, we have the pleasure of routinely witnessing the transformation of lives from hopelessness and despair toward independent and sustainable living.
