ARUKAH

Arukah House is a Christian men's transitional care home in Livermore for men that have recently been released from prison or who are currently homeless. Arukah House is not a shelter. It is for men who are ready to move forward in life. CONTRA COSTA FOOD BANK

An astounding 1 in 9 residents turn to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano for emergency and supplemental food. Many of our neighbors are unable to make ends meet and the Food Bank helps them cover one of life’s basic needs—nutritious food. We strive to serve all people experiencing hunger or food insecurity in Solano and Contra Costa counties and commit to never turn anyone away. Through our partnership with Feeding America, a nonprofit network of 200 food banks and the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, we also lend support to hunger-fighting organizations in 18 Northern California counties.

NEXT STEP

Next Step started in 1988 as a way to offer a safe and caring place where women facing an unplanned pregnancy could find confidential information about all of her options.
Our passion is the same today as always has been:
  • Empower women in making a confident choice. A choice that reflects her own values and beliefs.
  • Provide pure support. We do not profit in any way from your choice.
  • Honor the woman as an individual.
  • Provide all information and verification needed in one place to find your decision.
With no pressure of time or cost.
Our focus is on the client and the client’s needs.
Next Step is a Christian-based organization. We serve and honor all clients regardless of their race, religion, age, gender, political views or other distinctions. Our agenda is yours–it's as simple as that.

SHEPHERD'S GATE

Shepherd's Gate is one of our ministry partners. We financially support and care about many different ministries. We want you to be aware of those partners so we will be featuring them in our newsletter. We are starting with Shepherd's Gate, a shelter for women and children who have experienced homelessness, addiction and abuse.

We have ongoing meals teams that provide a dinner for all of the residents once a month. Each team is assigned one month out of the year. We are always looking for more people to join these teams. The team coordinates who provides what and who will deliver the meal. Will you consider making this once a year commitment which brings so much joy to the residents.
